Eligible Select Amateurs may compete in Open Performance classes and Amateur or Select Amateur at a show but not in both Amateur categories in any one performance section. For example, a Select Amateur choosing to compete in Select Amateur Trail is not permitted to also enter the corresponding Amateur Trail at the same show. However, the Select Amateur is allowed to compete in an Open, Junior, Senior or All Age Trail. A Select Amateur choosing to compete in any category at a show (for example, Select Amateur Hunter Under Saddle) is not confined to Select Amateur in other classes (eg Select Amateur Trail and Select Amateur Western Pleasure). NB: Select Amateur is based on the rider not the horse. Eg: If a Select Amateur competes in the Select Amateur Trail class at a show then that same person cannot ride a different horse in corresponding Amateur classes at the same show.
